It's official--Charlotte
Fuck you, TOB.
Fuck you, GDF.
Fuck you, Swofford.
BC should decline the Tire Bowl bid. If all the ACC cares about is money then force them to lose the bowl's payout. See if they fuck with us again.
But I don't want to let our pussy of a head coach off the hook--we fucking KNEW all season that this would happen unless we took care of business on the field, and we still come out flat for a make-or-break game against Wake Forest and we still lose two absolutely inexcusable games to horrible NC State and Miami teams.
This is a horrible bowl in a shithole city against a mediocre team that we play all the time anyway. Where exactly is the fucking appeal in this?? Give me ONE good reason why I should go to this game even if I lived in Charlotte let alone travel to go see it.
TOB couldn't be happier with this situation. You think he actually WANTS to play a bowl game against a real team that would put his precious bowl win streak in jeopardy?? Not only does he get a virtually guaranteed win, but he'll also get another game with no BC turnout to point to to justify HIS failure to take us to a good bowl game.
There is absolutely ZERO excuse for this asshole to still be our coach and there is absolutely ZERO excuse for us to be going to this shithole bowl. If GDF had any balls at all he would decline the invitation but we all know that isn't happening so I guess maybe I'll get out of bed to watch the game and maybe I won't. Fuck this bullshit.

BC won't even win this game. BC can't tackle so Navy will run the ball down their throat. Plus O'Brien will come out calling his runs up the middle and 2 yard screen passes. Navy wins one hell of a boring game by at least a touchdown.
1) is anybody actually travelling down to see this game? I'm pissed about the Charlotte bid but since I'm Navy I get to see a uniquely personal matchup.
2) If people travel, can we start some sort of chant or protest against TOB so the national media can see how peeved we are with his craptastic body of work?
3) I have a sickening feeling that we could see a rehash of the '99 Insight.com bowl, where Colorado just came out and beat us like a disrespectful housewife. Like bravesbill said, this power option attack will shred an arm-tackling defense. Fundamentals are absolutely essential to defending the run, since fatigue sets in during long, plodding drives. Combine a likely win for Navy in time of possession, 3-and-outs aplenty thanks to the offensive genius The Supply Officer and Mr. Slave, and a cold Matt Ryan (Bible sucks the life out of freewheeling QBs), and we might see a flat BC team get humiliated on national TV.
Prediction: Navy-30, BC-17
SSP: As much as TOB sucks, he will one day be gone. Just keep the faith in the program. Remember, as much as their egos tell them otherwise, GD and TOB are NOT Boston College football.
Your faith will be rewarded if you stay onboard and realize that this is just a lame phase for BC.
Does TOB LOVE football? I don't think so, he seems so bored. Get him out.
It's hockey/basketball season now so I'm done talking about the underachiever and his lost boys until Bowl Week. Big weekend coming up for both with a hopeful 3-4 point home-and-home with UMass and the hoops battle of I-95 on Sunday night. Great way to bounce back from the bowl doldrums, and tickets are still on sale for both home contests this weekend.
Woot to hockey and basketball.
But don't give up the ship on football. Finish strong. Let's rock Charlotte. If you don't like TOB, it's not the players' fault-- support THEM at least.
It's not a matter of "not supporting" the players. It's a matter of, I'm not going to spend $2-300 to travel to Charlotte for a nothing bowl game.
If the only bowl games you consider worthy are BCS games, then more often than not, yer gonna be disappointed. Even if you root for a 'powerhouse.'
Now, if you've attended the last 5 or so 2nd rate bowl games, and just really can't afford to give up the time and/or money, that's one thing, but if you're not going just because it's not the game you wanted, suck it the !@#! up.
I'll watch the bowl and root for BC of course, but I'm not going to obsess over it for the next 3.5 weeks. It's time for me to shift my focus to Conte Forum goings-on and pray for victory. Like I said at EA, those who can afford to go to the bowl game and whine about a lot of stuff should go and tell the nation that BC knows how to support its team on the road. But for those like me who are poor street urchins who can't afford to go, then there has to be organized gamewatches or something to get the blood up among the alumni in their respective areas. But not attending a bowl game isn't a sign of not supporting the program, especially if one is a season ticket holder.
I went into a huge amount of credit card debt flying to Raleigh and Tallahassee to support the team--games that actually MATTERED, unlike the glorified exhibition that will be played in Charlotte. I was willing to go further into debt to see BC play in a good bowl (Orange, Peach, Gator) or in a city that would've made for a fun trip (Nashville, SF), but the Tire Bowl in Charlotte?? Forget it.
Unless one has deep pockets, I question the financial wisdom of one who would spend money on a bowl matchup that wouldn't sell out Alumni Stadium, let alone the big house in Charlotte.
Exactly.
If I lived in Charlotte I'd be debating whether or not to spend just the $40 for the game ticket, at the end of the day I'd do it but mostly just to have an excuse to drink outdoors.
