Anderson Commits; Sheridan out for Maryland

Rivals is reporting that 2-star Florida TE Lars Anderson gave a verbal commitment yesterday on his official visit to The Heights. BC's interest in Anderson only really picked up a month or so ago, so I don't know a lot about the kid, other than that his other offers were from NC State, Michigan State, Central Florida, and Marshall (he did also attract interest from Florida Miami, and West Virginia). His highlights show him to be a good technical blocker with great hands (some circus catches in there). He's at 6'4/224 so he'll need to fill out some before he'll be able to contribute at TE but with all 3 TEs returning next year plus Jordon McMichael coming off a redshirt depth at that position is not a concern. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised to see McMichael earn a starting job; and with Mark Palmer and Survival Ross both graduating I wouldn't mind seeing either Trey Koziol (if he can stay healthy) or Ryan Purvis move to sort of an H-back position. He has decent speed (4.79), although he doesn't quite have the field-stretching speed of a McMichael.

Kevin Sheridan has been ruled out for Saturday's game against Maryland (which will be a noon kickoff), Josh Beekman will start at C.
