Great W's

I don't care who the opponent is--winning a game 41-0 and dominating to the point where you are using a walk-on QB at the end of the game is fucking impressive.

I don't care that they dominated the game, that your goalie had to stand on his head, and that one of the goals was an empty-netter--beating the defending national champions 3-0 in their house is fucking impressive.

I only listened to the hockey game on the radio and only caught the last 10 minutes of the football game (fucking work) so I can't comment too much on either one, other than to say that Nate Gerbe is a fucking player. He is going to have a breakout year.

Now let's see the Eagles take the Badgers again tonight. As for football, let's hope UNC can pull out the upset over Wake. Incidentally, I think we want Georgia Tech to defeat Miami today, even though a U victory would marginally help BC's strength of schedule. A Miami win means they are in the drivers seat to win the Coastal division, and we do NOT want to have to beat these guys twice in a row, Coker or no Coker.

In my Tallahassee recap, I neglected to mention one of the best moments of the weekend.

We walk into AJ's Saturday night after the game, and the downstairs part has one of those Internet jukeboxes where you can call up basically any song in existence. So naturally I search for and put on the classic Dropkick Murphys' rendition of "For Boston".

Bartender gets a pissed-off look on his face as soon as he realizes and cuts the sound 5 seconds into the song.

In retrospect; between that, starting drunken "We are BC" and "Whose house? Our house" chants with every other BC fan in sight, alternating making the "Eagle wings" gesture and a mocking Tomahawk chop at people, hitting on every attractive female in the place, and commenting to at least one FSU kid that "in the olden days, after a victory like this, we would get to rape and pillage your women"; I probably deserved to be jumped.

Hey Alex you are an embarassment to our school with your pathetic act. Grow up loser. Also you are so articulate putting "f'in" in front of every adjective. Class act you are and thanks for "representin" us BC grads. A couple of things #1: every team is "conquering" FSU these days. They have been conquered more then your sisters pussy. Big deal. F'ball team is taking advantage of a super weak ACC this year. TOB will choke just yet. Secondly the hockey team does deserve accolades but not from a bandwagon jumper like yourself. Now go get drunk stupid. You were working huh? The lunch shift at Geno's is a ballbuster.

Aww, my first hate mail, how cute. FWIW, dude, if you take anything on this site other than the acutal sports talk too seriously then you lose at the internet.

As for TOB...I'm as anti-TOB as anyone, but we'll see. I'm hopeful that this is the year he finally turns it around and avoids breaking our hearts. Just like I was last year, and the year before that...well, we'll find out on Saturday.

BC Newton - interesting post. Not sure how often you've been visiting this blog, but it's pretty much written by a straight-shooting BC fan who seems to attend almost all football games.

Yes, every team is "conquering" the Seminoles this season -- Maryland even beat them last night. But they're just as fast as they've been in the past...BC defeated FSU last week when Weatherford was QB (and didn't he, um, lead them to the ACC Title last season???). AND...BC beat them at Doak which should definitely count for something. I will not "dumb down" BC's victory over FSU this season.

Is the ACC "super weak" as you say? Or is there simply more parity? Or are the stronger teams just not named Virginia Tech, Florida State or Miami? Instead, the three strongest teams are named Boston College, Clemson and Georgia Tech. I'd love to see BC match up against Notre Dame or even USC, two other one-loss teams who (unlike the Eagles) are receiving way too much media attention.

And because Alex F is such a bandwagoner, that's why he went to the Beanpot, HE Tournament and Frozen Four last season (and the BP, HET the season before that).

Oh BC NEWTON, I'm sorry, it's probably really really difficult for you to attend BC games since you live in Newton. That's so much farther away from Philly (where Alex F resides) or Los Angeles (where I live).

Are you a current/former BC student? Year of graduation or current status? I'm BC class of 2006. I'd like to see response.

Christ, will you people lighten up?

BC Newton, I can see where you're coming from when you point out Alex's behavior representing BC @ FSU, but you kind of undercut your argument there a little buddy with the "sister's pussy", "bandwagon jumper" "go get drunk stupid" "lunch shift at Geno's" comments.

I agree with what Mo said in his 1st three paragraphs. If you said that BC would beat FSU AT FSU when I was at BC, they would have looked at you the same way as if you said we joined the ACC.

As for TOB, I'm hoping the VT & FSU wins are indicative of what this program is really capable of. I know a lot of people don't like TOB. But you have to realize for better or worse he's made BC a consistent winner. Light years ahead of Dan Henning and he hasn't made BC a stepping stone like Coughlin did. Like everybody else I'm happy with consistency, but like a lot of anti-TOB people, I want what we've had the last few weeks. Consistent wins over historical powerhouses, yearly shot at winning the Conference title, and a constant threat in the BCS.

Unfortunately my current job doesn't allow me to make BC games in person, but I listen in when I can.

Mo, as for me, I'm A&S Class of 2000, currently serving in the 1/72 Armor, 1st Brigade, 2nd Infantry. Camp Casey, ROK. Things are a little tense over here ever since the guy next door with the funny glasses & haircut set off a nuke. But whatever good news from home to break things up. Oh, and last week I won $50 from a 1LT who was unfortunate enough to have graduated from FSU. He also had to personally wash my car with the big BC Angry Chicken Sticker on it. Haha.

Go Eagles!

bc Newton- Calm down dude.....I do not understand some BC folks who think that support for one BC sports team means that you cannot support another....This makes no sense to me.

Doak Stadium was a very intimidating place to play....much like ND stadium.....Our players were not fazed at all...in fact they seemed to revel in it...

I'll take the current success, but as most BC fans do, I'm still waiting for the other show to drop.
